Gaither Homecoming 2012

John and I were in Nashville last week and Friday night he took me to The Gaither Homecoming 2012 concert as an early birthday present! I had never been to one before although I listen to them on You Tube sometimes and I’ve seen David Phelps in concert before and also heard Gloria Gaither at a Hearts of Worship conference.

It was three and a half hours of wonderful music and worship! Mark Lowry who wrote “Mary Did You Know” (my favorite!) was part of the group and sang it! Chills!

Can’t wait to go to another one!

Kyle Matthews Concert

John and I went to hear Kyle Matthews tonight. I think it's the 4th Christmas in a row we've been lucky enough to have him in Hickory. The songs he writes are meaningful and great stories. When you listen to them you feel the way you're suppose to feel at Christmas!

Ken Medema

John and I went to maybe the most fun concert ever tonight. Ken Medema, a blind, Christian songwriter singer was at St. Luke’s in Hickory. He was just wonderful. Beautiful songs; he had people rubbing shoulders and dancing in the aisles. He also asked people to come up and tell a story about someone that inspired him or her in their Christian walk and then he would immediately write and sing a song about that person. In looking at his schedule on his website it looks like he’s going to be all over the United States in the next few months. So go see him!!

Steve Green

My husband and I went to an amazing concert tonight at the First Baptist Church here in Hickory. Steve Green. He was just great: wonderful singing, wonderful sharing.

Steve has been doing this for 20 years and has had 4 Grammy nominations, 13 number 1 songs and 4 Dove Awards. He says that even after 20 years he still feels a joyful responsibility and a strong urgency to share the gospel and that he approaches every event as if it were his last chance to communicate God’s truth.
